Span 80" Weight 13.5-15Ibs Wing area 1190 sq in Engine 25-50cc
For really exciting 3D performance its good to be under 15 lbs. So our Yak 54 has been made with a wingspan of 80" and a scale planform for plenty of wing area. Weights between 13.5 and 15 pounds are possabel depending on the engine and eqiupment but she still behaves well if you choose larger motors. The Yak is a beautifully built airframe with removable wings and stabs for easy transport. Coverd in Ultracote, the fuse is balsa and lite ply, wings and tail feathers are also built-up. The canopy opens up from the rear of the cowl alowing full acsess. Tall aluminum landing gear gives lots of clearance for large props. This ARF kit includes a tinted and painted canopy, haigh style tailwheel assembly, large pin (Robart style) hinges with hinge holes pre-drilled. Stabs are retained by a screw through two tabs on the underside into the fuse side making them easy to remove for transport. Wheels and axles are included. There are mounts for fuel tanks either centered under the wing tube for pumped/gas engines or up close to the engine for glow engines. There is also a nice sized tray to hold batteries, receiver and the pull-pull rudder servo. This is a really great airplane. Its flight is very stable and predictable on low rates. On high rates the large control surfaces and big wing will do anything in the book and some stuff thats not there yet!
